Local Perspectives

Well, the Barnaby Festival was a great success. I think for anyone who has lived in Macclesfield for any period of time they will never have experienced anything like it. Personally, I have lived in Macclesfield practically my whole life and have never seen the town so alive. It was wonderful!

We had a great preview night, no time for taking pictures though unfortunately. Next time we'll have to give that job to someone. The weekend itself was surprisingly busy - between 200 & 250 people passed through the door over Saturday and Sunday, much to our amazement.

Hope you enjoy taking a look at the pictures that follow. Some are not that great admittedly, but I think they represent the exhibition reasonably well.

First post - MACCLESFIELD BARNABY FESTIVAL

Hello, welcome to The Common Project blog!

There is not much to write about at present, much of what The Common Project is about exists as ideas, but come the weekend of the 18th, 19th and 20th of June those ideas will have their first outing as that is the weekend of the MACCLESFIELD BARNABY FESTIVAL!!!

Over that weekend we will be putting on an exhibition in the town, which will showcase new work by a range of local artists working in a variety of different disciplines. Over the coming weeks I will post more information regarding the exhibition, important stuff like: where it is on, when it will open, and of course most importantly, who's going to be showing in it! So please check back often!

In the mean time if you would like to know more about the Barnaby Festival, please follow the link on the right hand side of this page.

Many thanks,

Tom
